G'day!

Hi everyone,

I hope things are beginning to wind down for you.  It is always such a hectic time of year, but now it's time to BREATHE!

I wish you all a very Happy Holiday and a New Year of happiness and good health.

I'm including a few cards I did using the same stamp for my Christmas cards.  I used Stamp n Bond for all of them with either a black, gold or white base and they all look completely different.  In case you haven't tried this technique you stamp in a slow-drying ink such as color Box pigment, add the Stamp n Bond which is basically a powdered glue, heat until shiny, but don't overheat as it will dry out, add crystal glitter to allow the base colour to show through and quickly heat set again.  Nothing sparkles like this.

I hope to see you all in the New Year,

Bonnie

Good afternoon

Hi everyone,

I've been quite absent from here for the past few weeks.  I ended up with a really bad cold or flu which kept me out of the store for 4-5 days.

We are excited to announce that Elizabeth Allen from Penny Black will be teaching here the last weekend of April.  I don't have all of the details yet as we don't know the stamps she will be using.  She is preparing for the CHA in Jan.  I'm sure she will come up with some wonderful samples.  The classes will be on Fri. afternoon and evening, Sat. all day and Sun. morning.  As soon as I have more details I'll let you know.

Magdalena from MercArt will also be coming here to teach.  She will be doing metal embossing, mostly using rubber stamps as her template.  I've seen and admired her for years.  I'll be taking the classes as well!  We have to finalize the dates and the projects.  Again, I'll keep you posted.

Here are a few ideas, but we are in the process of coming up with more:  ie. a journal cover, bookmark and card for starters.

Hero Arts has a new catalogue!  I'll be placing an order with them so if there is anything you would like, just give me the number and name of the stamp.  If you pre-pay you will get 20% off.  Just call the store and give us your credit card number and your phone number.  When the order comes in we'll give you a call.  The number here is:  514-697-1184

Have a good evening,

Good afternoon!

Hi everyone,

We are having a sale this Saturday.  Everything in the store will be 25% off.  We still have Christmas stamps and paper for those of you, like myself, who have not started their Christmas cards yet.  After all, it isn't Dec. 24th. yet ;-)

We have a few beautiful classes left for the season.  On Dec. 11 we have both the explosion box which is a wonderful way to present and display your photos and the Fanciful Holiday Cuttlebug with 3 adorable cards.

See you on Saturday!

Fast enough...

Hi again,

Here is the card I made in about 2 minutes.  There are many other more complicated ways of doing it, but I like the simplicity of this one.  I stamped in black Archival Ink on cream smooth cardstock.  Can you see it framed?

Inkadinkado is here!

Hi everyone,

We just received an order from Inkadinkado.  They have sure changed their styles over the years.  This year's Christmas stamps are so unique.  I've seen them done just in black on a light cream.  How easy is that!  I've also seen them in a small frame as they are certainly little pieces of art and would make quick and inexpensive gifts.

We also received new papers from Creative Imaginations, from old fashioned to cute penguins but all of it is beautiful and makes cardmaking a lot easier at this time of year.

Have a great day,

Bonnie

Here are some of the stamps:

Well, it's been a while...

Computers...gotta luv 'em!  I just got my computer back after 2 weeks in the shop.  It's just amazing how much we rely on them.

We have some really cute classes coming up.  I'm including a few of them.

If you are short on time we have new card kits from My Little Yellow Bicycle.  You will make 8 cards with envelopes in two hours!  The cost is $35.  Here are the samples.

Once again, My Little Yellow Bicycle has come up with an adorable envelope booklet.  You can use the envelopes to include Coupons, Photos or Gift Cards.  We are giving it on 2 separate dates:  Sun. Nov. 28 from 10-12 and Wed. Dec. 1 from 10-12.  The cost is $37.50.  Come pass a few hours with friends.

We also have a traiditional Advent Calendar in which you can put special messages.  It makes a festive wall decoration.  We still have a few places left for this Sat. 20, from 10-12.  The cost is $39.50

Good morning,

Last week was just so busy in the store and the prepping for Toronto that I didn't have time to send some samples of cards that Louise and I made, using our new stamps.  Even though I've posted them here, they won't likely be in the store until next Tues.  You can call to reserve them if you'd like.

Also, Isabelle is working for a worthy cause where all proceeds go to fund scholarships for McGill students.  It's a book fair and the books are ridiculously inexpensive, on Oct. 20 and 21 at the Redpath Hall...here is the link:   http://montreal.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell-books-McGill-Book-Fair-Foire-aux-livres-McGill-W0QQAdIdZ235907219

Have a great week and once I'm back we'll have Make N Takes in the store using all of our new stamps, and once again, the new punch from McGill.

Good morning everyone!

What a beautiful day, although a little nippy this morning.  I'm going to forego a turkey dinner (which I love), in order to hopefully have goose...Actually I hope to photograph the migration of the Snow Geese in Montmagny.

There are still a few spots left in the Just Rite 2 class.  You will be making a cute pop-up card which folds flat into an envelope as well as 2 others.  I've included the samples here.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!  Enjoy your turkey!

Good morning everyone!

I've been a bit short on words this week and will be glad when the Toronto show is just a hopefully pleasant memory.  It's not like having a show in Montreal, where if you forget your hooks or stamps pads, you can just go back and pick them up.

We received some new punches which punch and emboss and are fantastic for embellishing cards.  The poinsettia comes in 2 sizes so you can layer.  You just punch out your paper, then place the piece into the embosser and voilà!  The paper is embossed.  There are also flowers and leaves, including a beautiful gingko leaf.

We still have a few places in the Star Book class tomorrow afternoon.  This makes a wonderful gift for Christmas.  You can put family photos, or little messages in it as well as having it as a centerpiece, or even hang it up as a decoration.  We will be using the new paper from Bo Bunny which was in my last Blog.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Bonnie

Bonjour!

What a day we had.  Everyone seemed to like the demo of the Lily/Poinsettia.  It's so easy and so spectacular when finished.  We sold out but will hopefully be receiving some more on Friday.  Thank you Sandie for your great samples and explanation.

We also received some of the Christmas Bo Bunny paper.  The colours are not typical for Christmas but so refreshing.  I've included 4 of the swatches.

Have a great weekend,

Bonnie

Demo

Good afternoon,

I've been told that the new Lily/Poinsettia punch from McGill should be in on Friday.  We'll be having demos with it from 10:30-2:30 on Sat.  I sent out an email from the store with all of the info, but I must have bad computer karma as a lot of them bounced back.  I am now resending directly from the server, so for those of you who get it twice, I humbly apologize ;-)

Have a great day,

Bonnie

Good morning...

Hi everyone,

I've been a little remiss in keeping up with my Blog.  I've spent so much time preparing samples and unpacking boxes.  I managed to make a few cards with the new Stampendous Christmas stamps.  They are very quick to make as I've used Best Creations papers in the background so there is less to do.  At Christmas, when time seems to be at a premium, fast is good.  I've also made a card with another of our new releases that is not even in the store yet...the fat cat in a basket of yarn.  The poinsettias are separate so they can be for Christmas but the basket can be for any occasion.

We also received the Christmas line of My Little Yellow Bicycle and the papers are so cute!  I've included some of the samples.  Louise will be doing classes with the Advent calendar as well as the Envelope book.

Have a great weekend,

Bonnie
